Document Preparation

For many companies, the decision to deliver documentation on-line or across the Web can also bring workload problems for the document administrators. While those documents that have been well-structured using modern word processing packages should not pose any problem, the backlog of manuals previously distributed on paper demands additional effort.

We have formed a team dedicated to the re-working or creation of word-processing documentation in a form ready for on-line Web delivery, autorun CD and DVD. The documentation can also be embellished with hypertext links, pictures, hotspots or links to other applications such as spreadsheets, databases, word processors, CBT (computer based training) and form stores. Projects have been carried out ranging from a few small documents to over 100,000 pages of information.

Document Conversion

We can help you convert your existing paper-based documentation into an on-line format. We take your paper documents, scan them and convert to any electronic word processor format you want. (At CornelDesign we have a preference for Adobe™ PDF format).

After the initial conversion project has been carried out, we provide you with templates that ensure that a consistent approach is taken concerning your documentation in the future. Authors value these templates as the templates enable them to adopt a formal approach to the appearance of documentation. This not only brings consistency to how documents look on-line, but also eases their maintenance.

Writing Services

Using a set of guidelines and principles, your target audience is analyzed together with your base information. This identifies what information your readers actually need. The information is then organized and presented in a clear and concise way so that information retrieval is much more rapid than with more traditional methods of writing.

Desktop publishing, or DTP, is the process of editing and layout of printed material intended for publication, such as books, magazines, brochures, and the like using a personal computer and specialized pre-press software.

CornelDesign delivers DTP work in all industry standard file format. DTP files are pre-press ready, color differentiated, cropped and compatible with the film scanner of your choice (mostly AGFA® and Linotronic®).

We also deliver poster format DTP work as well as large scale CAD, sketches, DTP combo productions for the print of posters, ad displays and trade show banners.

CornelDesign is experienced in creating custom fonts and personalized artistic characters. We have access to numerous calligraphers and font-masters capable of crafting artistic fonts and characters in all known languages.
